Good news for Kevin

Kevin Shaw successfully finished his pre-employment programme at the NAC Group and is now in the process of completing a Nissan apprenticeship. Kevin, who was unemployed for eight months before joining the pre-employment programme, had previously studied engineering at a local college. He wanted to go straight into work, but thought that he would benefit more by completing the programme.
Kevin carried out his training at the Nissan plant in Sunderland. "I definitely made the right choice", says Kevin, "I thoroughly enjoyed the programme, making new friends and learning essential skills for the automotive industry. The trainers were welcoming, kind, and keen to help me develop. And, the key skills element was also very valuable way of refreshing my existing capabilities."
Once Kevin had successfully completed the pre-employment programme and gained a Level 2 Certificate in Preparation for Working in the Engineering Manufacturing Industry, he was offered the opportunity of carrying out a Supply Chain Management apprenticeship with Nissan. Kevin says he is "Over the moon to be offered this chance."
Kevin lost a lot of confidence when he was out of work, and the apprenticeship has helped to restore this. It has also helped improve his timekeeping, and the impression that he makes on others. He now knows exactly what he wants to do in the future. "The partnership between the NAC Group and EAL obviously works brilliantly", says Kevin, "everything has been well organised and I have gained a lot of experience as well as a nationally recognised qualification."
"Going through the training programme has benefitted me in so many different ways", he continues, "and now I am looking forward to completing my apprenticeship... well, I'm just looking forward to the end result. It has all made a huge change to my life. I've been given the chance to prove myself, and it has paid off. I would be more than happy to recommend this programme to others."
