New qualification goes nation wide

The NAC Group has teamed up with Awarding Body EAL to offer a new qualification for people seeking jobs in modern engineering manufacturing industries. The Level 2 Certificate in Preparation for Working in the Engineering Manufacturing Industry will be available through EAL’s national network of recognised centres. It is targeted specifically at meeting the needs of the unemployed and helping them to develop a new career.
The Certificate was developed by the NAC Group using the lessons learned through its long and successful collaboration with world-class vehicle manufacturer Nissan. Built on this thorough understanding of what employers expect of new recruits, the qualification will introduce the candidate to the engineering manufacturing environment, and the importance of sustainability. It will develop essential hand skills, teach the candidate how to solve problems at work and prepare them for interview. The emphasis is on the development of practical skills and know-how in a practical learning environment.
Paul Robson, MD of the NAC Group, said: “This qualification will be of interest to anyone seeking employment in the engineering manufacturing sector. Because it is nationally recognised, the Certificate will provide a significant boost to the candidate’s CV, and therefore to their chances of finding a rewarding job. We have worked closely with major employers to develop this training product and to ensure that it meets their needs.”
