Experts from the Centre for Local Economic Strategies (CLES) are currently completing research into the skills needed by the long-term unemployed seeking careers in the new low carbon industries. They are also investigating what employers say they are looking for in new recruits.
The results of the research will be published in February, and will be made freely available to interested parties via the NAC Group website. The research, titled World Class Skills in Walker, focuses on people and businesses in the areas along the north bank of the Tyne.
