A wireless traffic light system helps Schmitz Cargobull achieve the best practice award for September
Schmitz Cargobull, at Harelaw, receives a high volume of deliveries from all kinds of suppliers and needs to control onsite traffic in order to keep it to a minimum. To do this, the engineers have installed a simple method to control the inbound delivery flow with a wireless traffic light system operated by the receivers. When the bay is ready for the next delivery the receiver simply signals through to the traffic lights for the next vehicle to come down.
‘The solution was simple but highly effective' said Keith Morris Material Handling Manager at the site, ‘the installation took no time at all and the benefits have been evident in less congestion on site'.
